In this group we will all be equal and although I am organising this, I want to be clear I want everyone to input ideas if they like. You may have other experiences I may not have had and vice versa. We each have things to teach each-other and I do not claim to be more knowledgeable than any other actress. I hope we can all learn from each other and grow with each other equally. My goal is that we learn from each other rather than a teacher-student structure. I felt there wasn’t a place that offered it in Norwich so I have created the space for this myself!

I want the pieces we create to inspire as many creatives as possible, to allow other creatives to meet people, to get women off their phones, to get people to brave the blank page, to allow young people to use their trauma and anxieties to inspire and create amazing things that lift them out the whole their in. 

 

If you’d like to know a little about me and don’t know who I am, I’m Matilda! I have worked for companies big and small doing things from social media marketing to producing music videos to working with silly Disney line producers, short films, and one very rude Peaky Blinders actor. This past year I have scaled down and preferred working with smaller local businesses, particularly wellbeing businesses because I have found that although making films and being a part of that industry is amazing, I am not willing to sacrifice my creativity or my health to make a corporate company film, tv show or advertisement. I’m sure many of you feel the same. I am on a mission to help people achieve their aspirations without sacrificing things like mental health or creative flow.

The beauty of WAG is you are not restricted to one role. You can act, dance, sing, direct or write. WAG offers the opportunity to explore all avenues and learn to appreciate the different roles within the arts. I have absolutely loved coming to WAG. Spending an hour each week focusing on what I love and hanging with amazing women with no drama, gossip, or bad vibes is so hard to find - but I have found it here. Matilda is a great lead helping us stay on track and not natter for too long but always brings a great vibes. It’s so lovely to support other women in the industry!

The money will go into the rent for the room and into any future productions, plays and costumes etc for us. That’s why it’s only £5 to attend the weekly session, as we are all equally helping each other and putting some money towards the rent as a group in order to honour ourselves and give space so we can creatively flourish!
